Quality Month Event: Survive by Quality, Benefit by Quality

In September 2024, Forman Precision Industry Co., Ltd. (FPIC) successfully held a “Quality Month” event, aligned with the national Quality Month initiative. The purpose of this event was to enhance the quality awareness of all employees, emphasize the importance of quality control at every stage, and establish long-term, effective quality improvement mechanisms. This activity showcased our company’s commitment to strict quality management and our responsibility to every customer.

Event Overview:

To kick off the event, FPIC organized a company-wide mobilization meeting. The entire staff echoed the event’s theme with one loud and unified voice: “Survive by Quality, Develop by Quality, Benefit by Quality.” This powerful slogan set the tone for the month-long initiative, underscoring the company’s culture of excellence and the high standards we aim to uphold in every aspect of our operations.

The event’s goals included:

  1. Ensuring that each department follows documented procedures, operational instructions, and quality guidelines.
  2. Conducting a Quality Measurement Skills Competition.

Departmental Competitions:

Employees from all departments eagerly signed up to participate, showcasing their skills and their understanding of the importance of quality in their roles. Following the guidelines of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949, departments established their evaluation criteria, which included:

  • R&D Department: Product development documentation and customer approval records.
  • Quality Control Department: Incoming material inspections, in-process inspections, final product inspections, and client feedback logs.
  • Procurement and Material Control Department: Management of material purchases, production planning, and supplier development.
  • Production Department: Production records, equipment maintenance, and adherence to operational standards.
  • Frontline Operators: Knowledge of theory and practical operation, adherence to work processes, identification and handling of defective products, equipment inspection and maintenance, and quality report records. Quality Month

The event culminated in a comprehensive evaluation of all departments and positions. Based on their outstanding performances, exceptional employees were awarded first, second, and third prizes. Voluntary Blood Donation: Spreading Love and Responsibility

Voluntary blood donation is a red thread that conveys true affection among people, and it is a traditional virtue of the Chinese nation. At FPIC, our long-standing corporate mission is to “create value for customers and all stakeholders, provide better remuneration and benefits for employees, and make due contributions to society.”

On June 17, 2024, we organized our first collective activity themed “Voluntary Blood Donation, Spreading Love.”

The city’s central blood bank provided us with educational brochures on blood donation, enabling all employees to better understand the importance and knowledge of blood donation. This initiative aimed to foster moral values and perspectives centered on caring for society, serving others, and being willing to contribute.

At the blood donation event, our General Manager set a positive example by being the first to sign up and participate, demonstrating strong leadership and encouragement. Medical staff carefully explained blood donation knowledge and precautions to our employees, guiding them through the registration process and ensuring that the blood tests and collection were conducted smoothly. In recognition of our efforts, the Shenzhen Bao’an District Central Blood Bank awarded FPIC the title of “Shenzhen Voluntary Blood Donation Public Welfare and Love Unit.”

On the day of the competition, the atmosphere is charged with excitement and anticipation. Our employees participate with great enthusiasm and a professional attitude, demonstrating their solid technical foundations and problem-solving capabilities through various theoretical tests and practical demonstrations.

  1. Mold Processing: Participants are required to precisely process mold parts based on provided drawings and specifications within a set timeframe. They must also inspect the quality of the processed parts to ensure they meet the required standards. Additionally, participants address any anomalies that arise during the processing.

  2. Metal Stamping: Competitors complete tasks such as setting up and adjusting molds and machines according to provided requirements, and then inspect the quality of the produced metal products to ensure they meet the standards. The fastest and most precise competitor wins.

  3. Plastic Molding: Participants perform tasks including product switching, mold setup and removal, equipment adjustment, and product testing based on provided drawings and requirements. They ensure that the produced plastic products meet appearance and structural standards and address any anomalies that arise.

  • Technical Group:Competitors follow provided drawings and requirements to switch production models, clean tracks and materials, align materials, replace parts, adjust machines, and complete the full production process until qualified products are produced.Assembly Workshop
  • Manual Group:Using product A063-0320, competitors prepare materials, define workstations, prepare for production, assemble parts, conduct full inspections, and organize their workspaces to assemble and package a finished product that meets quality standards. The fastest competitor wins.

Our judges provided professional evaluations and suggestions, further enhancing the participants’ skill levels.

The Origins of the Dragon Boat Festival

The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu Festival, is a significant cultural holiday in China that dates back over 2,000 years. This festival commemorates the life and death of the esteemed Chinese poet and minister Qu Yuan. Known for his patriotism and contributions to classical poetry, Qu Yuan is said to have drowned himself in the Miluo River as a protest against the corruption of the era. The local people, who admired and respected him deeply, raced out in their boats to save him or retrieve his body. They also threw rice into the river to distract the fish and protect his body, which led to the traditional practice of eating zongzi (sticky rice dumplings).

 

Celebratory Activities

The Dragon Boat Festival is celebrated with a variety of activities that highlight its historical significance and cultural heritage. Key activities include:

  • Dragon Boat Racing: One of the most exhilarating traditions, teams paddle their boats in synchronization, symbolizing the attempts to rescue Qu Yuan.
  • Eating Zongzi: Sticky rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves are enjoyed to honor the memory of Qu Yuan.
  • Wearing Perfumed Sachets: These are believed to protect from evil spirits and disease.
  • Drinking Realgar Wine: This traditional drink is thought to ward off evil spirits and protect against diseases.
